Slovenia proudly played host to the 14th edition of the All About People event, organized by the DBF Group. This prestigious gathering brought together top-tier MICE buyers and suppliers from across the globe for three days of networking, discovery, and unforgettable experiences in one of Europe's most exciting emerging MICE destinations.
Held in the heart of Europe, Slovenia proved to be the ideal backdrop—where natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and world-class hospitality create a unique and inspiring atmosphere for business events, incentive travel, and corporate gatherings. This boutique destination continues to gain recognition as a hub for innovative and authentic MICE experiences.
The event took place from March 28 to 30, with participants staying at the luxurious InterContinental Hotel in Ljubljana. The organization of the event was a collaborative effort between the Slovenian Tourist Board, Tourism Ljubljana, and Nomago DMC.
The official welcome on Friday was a warm and authentic celebration of Slovenian culture. Guests were greeted with a traditional Slovenian welcome drink—blueberry and plum brandy—paired with classic Slovenian desserts, served by hostesses in traditional attire. The festive mood was elevated with a performance of traditional folk dances, giving guests an immediate sense of place and culture.
Saturday brought a mix of business and leisure. After productive one-on-one meetings, participants split into two groups for guided explorations of Ljubljana, one of the most charming and accessible conference cities in Europe. Despite the rainy weather, spirits remained high.
One group explored the city on foot, concluding their tour with a wine tasting and sampling of local cold cuts. The second group took to the streets on Nomago Bikes and enjoyed a scenic boat ride through the Ljubljanica river canal, complete with refreshments —a signature incentive travel activity in Ljubljana.
The day culminated in a magical gala dinner at Ljubljana Castle, complete with a breathtaking fire show. The medieval setting offered an unforgettable evening of celebration, perfectly showcasing Slovenia's unique event venues.
Sunday brought the event to a dreamy close with a visit to Lake Bled, one of the most iconic incentive travel destinations in Slovenia. Guests enjoyed a serene ride aboard the traditional pletna boats—handcrafted wooden boats rowed by pletna oarsmen, a craft passed down only through generations of pletnar families.
The boat ride brought them to the picturesque island in the middle of the lake, home to a charming church. The final stop was the majestic Bled Castle, perched atop a cliff with panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains—a truly awe-inspiring end to an exceptional weekend.
